My name is Sherri Taylor and I am the Student Circle Fundraising Chairperson for the 2012-2013 year. I am from Dallas, Texas and have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over ten years. I received my B.A. in Feminist Studies from Stanford University and I am currently a third year Psy. D. student in Clinical Psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Prior to commencing graduate studies, I had a career as a marketing professional in both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

My clinical and research interests include psychological empowerment, spirituality, multicultural and feminist psychology, child and adolescent development, and neuropsychoimmunology. I have worked in community mental health for several years and have a particular interest in working with youth and families of color. In addition to continuing my clinical work I hope to offer policy consulting services to other professionals and organizations who share a vision of health and wellness that includes social justice and empowerment.

Audre Lorde once said, "without community, there is no liberation" and this is something I take to heart. I am committed to offer my passion, creativity, and advocacy skills in service to the ABPsi Student Circle. As Fundraising Chair I look forward to helping increase the Student Circle's financial stability and resources through diversifying the fundraising activities in ways that build community and affirm and forward the mission and vision of the Student Circle and ABPsi.
