STUDENT CIRCLE CHAIR-ELECT'S MESSAGE

My name is Rosy N. Uzuh, hailing all the way from the awe inspiring city in the lone star state of Austin Texas, and, I am your 2012-2013 Association of Black Psychologist Student Circle Chair- Elect. I received my B.S. May, 2010 from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX. There I became a member of The Omega Gamma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. Now, I am a second year Personality Psychology Doctoral student attending Howard University in Washington DC. As a proud Bison scholar, my research interest revolves around the Psychological Well-Being amongst Black Lesbian and Bisexual young adult women and their Coming Out experience.

Last year of 2011-2012, I served as one of the National Convention Committee Co-Chairs for the ABPsi Student Circle. My responsibility was to act as a liaison to the NCC and assist with the developing of this past year Convention. As the past SC NCCC it was quite a testing yet growing experience, pleasant and equally fulfilling opportunity, I loved and I appreciate it all!

This year as Chair-elect it is my duty and promise to be our chairperson, Gabrielle Johnson's right hand woman, "partner in crime", and task fulfiller. I plan to assist in the development of ABPsi between outside scholars, and professionals so that we may continue to strive for success. One of my many duties is to get any and every one acquainted with their Student Circle Regional Representatives. I will be in constant communication with the Regional Reps concerning events and rising opportunities with the SC Chapters in their surrounding area. This year…the Association of Black Psychologist Student Circle will cultivate in many ways.

My creativity, blissful character, and a desire for knowledge are what encourages me to grow daily into a better person. I will be faithful, trustworthy, and always eventful; seeking ways to support our peers through ABPsi.
