Student Circle - Treasurer:
Faun Rockcliff
Hailing from Guyana, South America, I am an international student – the second of four children and the first to attend college, who is driven by ambition and a sense of responsibility to fulfill a mission simplistically stated in her high school’s motto: “To know, to love, to serve,” throughout her life. I am currently in my final year in college, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology of Learning at Medgar Evers College, offered by the CUNY BA program, which allows students to integrate disciplines. I am integrating education with psychology. All of my life, I have been developing a greater love for people, which led me to pursue Psychology in the first place, and I have also become increasingly interested in learning and academic output in students.
I plan to work in the capacity of Educational Psychologist, where I will work tirelessly to remove learning barriers for students and create positive learning environments for them. My passion for doing so stems from my beliefs that everyone is entitled to a quality education and that anyone can learn if conducive environments are cultured. In recognizing the importance of connecting with professionals and students who share similar interests to mine along my journey, I am delighted to be a part of ABPsi. I currently serve as President of the Medgar Evers College Psychology Club, Board Member of NYABPsi, and have been recently appointed Eastern Undergraduate Representative for ABPsi. Consistent with the “Each One, Teach One” philosophy, my ultimate goal in these three positions is to motivate and mobilize other students, especially students of color, to capitalize on the resources available to them so that they can successfully attain their goals. It is my hope that they, in turn, will do so for others.
