Krystle Hays

Krystle Hays, M.A. holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She is currently working towards completion of a Doctoral degree (Psy.D) in Clinical sychology, expected in 2010. Her dissertation involves an analysis of the role of phenotype, family factors, and societal factors in the development and maintenance of biracial identity, and the therapeutic implications. She has nearly seven years of experience in counseling and mental health-related services. She has worked in community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and the VA medical center in the providing of individual, couple, family, and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adult populations. She is currently involved in research to create a projective test for ethnically-diverse adult populations. Krystle has previous experience in various domains of psychology including research, neuropsychological and personality assessment, outreach and consultation, professional presentations, and university-level instruction. She is the co-founder of the Multicultural Professional Network, currently serves as Western Region Graduate Chair for the Association of Black Psychologists Student Circle, and is an active member of various other professional organizations. Her interests include cultural psychology, assessment, trauma, and severe clinical pathology.
