Tamika Backstrom

Tamika Backstrom was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown. She continued to pursue her educational goals at Prairie View A&M University’s School of Juvenile Justice and Psychology where she received a Master of Science degree in Juvenile Forensic Psychology. Currently she is a fourth year doctoral student at Sam Houston State University studying Clinical Psychology with emphasis on forensic issues. Her research interests include posttraumatic growth and multicultural issues in forensic psychology.
