 | Student Circle - National Convention Committee Chair: Avril A. Smart Avril A. Smart received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC. She is a current doctoral student in the Psychology in the Public Interest program at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Her research interests include racial socialization, racial identity, program evaluation among other topics. She has participated in 3 NSF Funded research programs and presented at multiple conferences and conventions throughout the country. As the Student Circle National Convention Chair (NCC) Avril’s role is to represent student interests in the planning and organizing of the National Convention and to act as a liaison on The Association’s National Convention Committee. One of her goals for this term as NCC is to ensure that student lead programs at the convention run smoothly and are organized well. Avril also plans to provide students with more structured opportunities to network and interact with each other at the convention. |
