Rashika Rentie

Rashika J. Rentie

Rashika J. Rentie, MA, is a Los Angeles, CA native that is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Howard University in Counseling Psychology.  Rashika received her BA in Psychology and MA in Psychological Research from California State University, Long Beach.  With several years of experience in the field of education, Rashika is dedicated to working in the African American community specifically with the future generation, the youth.  Rashika has participated in leadership positions in the community as well as academia.  Her recent works include manuscripts and presentations on The Influence of Father Involvement on African American Women, The Confluence of Autism and Culture, and Delinquency Prevention among African American Adolescent Males.  Rashika attributes her success to working with mentors, Dr. Michael Connor, Dr. Lionel Mandy, Dr. Pamela Ashe and Dr. Ivory A. Toldson.

Throughout her academic career, Rashika has been passionate about voicing issues and concerns that affect the Black community and working with the Harambee Newsletter is a means to continue her efforts.  As a young professional, Rashika continues to gain knowledge and wisdom from her elders and peers and is excited about the opportunity to bring her talents and experience to the Harambee Newsletter.  Her past commitment to ABPsi includes Graduate Student Circle Representative, Western Region, 2004-2006.
