SKILLS:
For Diplomat Status, document and verify a minimum of seven years work experience in education, research, and/or clinical practice, related to people of African Ancestry. For Fellow Status, document and verify a minimum of 14 years work experience. Mental Health Counselors, Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family therapists, and all other licensed or certified professionals must provide verification of a current license, certification or other valid documents.
KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrate and verify knowledge of the HISTORY of ancient African origins of contemporary people of African ancestry in America and world wide. Provide verifiable evidence of a thorough review of the literature (Personal experiences with indigenous people on the African Continent will be considered).
Demonstrate and verify knowledge of the CULTURE and an understanding of its psycho-social impact on lifestyles of people of African Ancestry. Provide verifiable evidence of a review of the literature (Personal experiences with people of African Ancestry will be considered).
Demonstrate and verify knowledge of SPIRITUALITY, traditional and contemporary notions, as it impacts history, culture and psycho-social paradigms of people of African Ancestry.
Demonstrate knowledge and a functional understanding of the CODE OF ETHICS of The Association of Black Psychologists.

ABILITIES:
Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge of African Centered concepts in fields such as education, research, clinical and other professional fields of practice. In all fields of practice, demonstrate abilities to apply concepts of collective consciousness and personal veneration.
Provide verifiable evidence of the ability to apply knowledge of the culture, in clinical practice, or in other identified professional fields of practice, with people of African ancestry.
Demonstrate knowledge of ability to apply The Association of Black Psychologists’ Code of Ethics in the professional certification for which you are applying.
